The 2015 Detroit Tigers season is the team's 115th season, and their 16th season at Comerica Park. The Tigers are defending their American League Central title again this year, with hopes of a fifth consecutive playoff appearance. The regular season will begin at home on April 6 against their AL Central Division rival the Minnesota Twins.

  • On October 31, the Tigers picked up the $7 million contract option for relief pitcher Joakim Soria.[3]
  • Also on October 31, The Tigers extended qualifying contract offers to starting pitcher Max Scherzer and designated hitter Victor Martinez.[4] They both rejected their qualifying offers on November 10.[5]
  • On November 14, the Tigers signed designated hitter Víctor Martínez to a four-year, $68 million contract.[6]
  • On November 14, the Tigers signed relief pitcher Joel Hanrahan to a minor league contract.[7]
  • On November 17, the Tigers picked up the $5.4 million contract option for catcher Alex Avila.[8]
  • On November 20, the Tigers claimed relief pitcher Josh Zeid off waivers from the Houston Astros.[9]
  • On November 21, the Tigers signed outfielder Xavier Avery to a minor league contract.[10]
