The United States District Court for the District of Vermont (in United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit where it has remained since. Originally created with one Judgeship, in 1966 a second Judgeship was added.
Appeals from the District of Vermont are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit).
The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Vermont represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. The current United States Attorney is Tristram Coffin.[1]
