The Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act of 2010 or STELA
The bill was initially sponsored by Sen. Pat Leahy of Vermont, on May 7, 2010, and passed the same day. On May 12, 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act of 2010.
Provisions set to expire on May 31, 2010 where extended to December 31, 2014 and new provisions will sunset on December 31, 2014.
