Asianet Suvarna(ಸುವರ್ಣ ) is a Kannada-language channel owned by Asianet Communications Limited, Kerala, aimed at the Kannada-speaking population in the south Indian state of Karnataka and neighbouring regions. Launched with the tag line "24 carat manoranjane", the channel airs soap operas, talk shows, news programmes, and game shows. One of the most popular among its programmes is the Kannada version of the hit music talent show Idea Star Singer called "Confident Star Singer".


The Suvarna Film Awards, are presented annually by the Suvarna Channel to honor both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Sandalwood.[1][2]

Reality shows

Suvarna channel gained popularity all over Karnataka with its first reality show PYATE HUDIGEER HALLI LIFU in which 10 city girls were at Purdaal, Shimoga district. Naina puttaswamy was the winner.

The second reality show was started soon after the first namely HALLI HYDA PYATEG BANDA. Winner was Aishwarya and Rajesh. It was a great reality show in south India.[3]

The third reality show was PYATE MANDI KADIGE BANDRU (Season 1) making city boys and girls live like a Tribe in a forest. Rohan Gowda was the winner.

Fourth came up with the different reality show called NODI SWAMY NAAV IRODU HEGE, wherein the obese people will be put into observation and on dieting along with the tasks, the participant who lose more weight would be considered as the winner.[4]

Again there was a squeal of (Season 2) which took place in Andaman islands, Praveen and Sharath were the winners.

Then came the cookery show called KITCHEN KILADIGALU, hosted by Sihikahi chandru and Srujan Lokesh.

The next show was KANNADA KOTYADHIPATHI[5] which is hosted by Puneeth Rajkumar.

Now, the channel airs two reality shows KANNADA KOTYADHIPATHI Junior which is the junior version of KANNADA KOOTYADHIPATHI and SUVARNA SUPER JODI in which pairs from various serials of the channel will participate.
