Alasdair Dickinson (born 11 September 1983 in Dundee) is a Scottish rugby union footballer, who plays for Sale Sharks. He plays as a prop. He is a product of the Scottish Institute of Sport.

One of three players to join from Edinburgh Rugby, the prop is a tremendous ball carrier.

He made his Scotland debut against New Zealand at the RWC 2007 and has gone on to win 19 caps to date.

The prop plays on the loose-head side of the scrum and featured twice against Gloucester in the 2006 – 07 Heineken Cup.

Dickinson signed for Gloucester Rugby from Edinburgh Gunners for the 2007/08 season.[2]

2008 – 09 really saw him force his way into the Gloucester first team to a regular basis as he made 20 appearances in total.

Dickinson moved to Sale Sharks for the 2011/2012 season, joining international team-mates Fraser McKenzie and Richie Vernon. Dickinson will rejoin Edinburgh Rugby from the Sale Sharks for the 2013/14 season.[3]
