The 2016 Boston Red Sox season is the 116th season in the team's history, and their 105th season at Fenway Park.

2016 will be the sixth straight season the Red Sox play opening day on the road, opening up the season against their 2015 season closing opponent the Cleveland Indians, and wrap up the season at home for the second time in the last three years. It will be the first time since 2009 they will not finish the season on the road or at home against their rival, the New York Yankees.
